New patio entrance for the sheep
This year the sheep have a new exit out the back of the barn. But since it’s a higher elevation they needed to figure out navigating the ramp. Penny, our dog, was pretty proud of immediately figuring it out.

Spring morning
Starting to feel like spring, and the garlic is poking through. A wakeup call … Time to start mending fences, the cows and sheep will be grazing again soon.

A boy named Sault

Welcome Reggie!

Lambings done!
The last two ewes lambed this morning. Nine ewes, 16 lambs, an excited dog and a relieved farmer. All in all a good year.

First time mom …
Two more arrived today and so far they are doing fine. Mom isn’t being mean to them, but you can tell she would rather be out clubbing. Hopefully she settles into the routine soon. And yeah, they are wearing sweaters.

Cold snap lambs …
So I was sure they were all waiting for this cold snap to lamb, but so far only one. We are going through lots of firewood, but the girls are nice and cozy. Checking on the sheep and keeping the fires going isn’t a bad way to pass the storm.

Beauty day!
Great day to be a cow … Warm sun but frost in the ground. So nice to see the sun. Still waiting on more lambs to arrive. No boubt it will be all at once.

First lambs of 2023
Well, here we go … Bella was first with twins, and seems like everyone is doing fine. Stay tuned for an onslaught of cute lamb pics. It’s my favorite time of year!
